Hobart Basket in Pipe.jpg

Dear Treasure Coast Disc Golfers:

As we come to the end of another year, the Treasure Coast Disc Golf Board would like to thank every one of our Members for helping us reach another successful year.

Under the leadership of the previous TCDG Officers and Board Members, we were able to:

  • Install a new 18-basket course (paid for by the City of Fort Pierce) at the Indian Hills Recreation Area;

  • Expand Hobart in Indian River County to a full 18 basket course (special thanks to TCDG Member Timmy Rattiger for taking the lead);

  • Add disc drops boxes at all our courses (well – almost all of our courses: Thanks Martin County);

  • Host four PDGA-sanctioned tournaments at two of our courses;

  • Grow our club membership by 20 percent;

  • Sponsor a team of our best players to compete against other clubs around the state in WAR.

We want to thank and recognize the previous Board Members: Milton O’Steen, Jr (president): Jeff Paino (vice president); Lance Chmura, Mario Jasmin and John Villoria for the time and effort that they put into the Club over the past two years (and more).

Elections were held last month to select the Officers to serve for the next two years. David Keith was elected President, Ryan Jouppi was elected Vice President, Erick Gill was elected Secretary and while Jeff Paino received the most votes to serve as Treasurer – Jeff let the rest of the Officers know that he wouldn’t be able to fill that role. So the position was given to the nominee with the second most votes, which was Brian LaPorte. The Officers have appointed the following members to serve as the rest of the Board: Bryan Botson, Jimmy Branch, Jeff Daugherty, Robbie Keen, August Lightfoot, Jeff Porreca and Mark Baldwin.

The new Board is excited to continue to expand on the excellent progress that was made by the previous Board, including re-designing the course at the Donald B. Moore Preserve (Torpey); installing a memorial for TCDG Member Gary Hudson; getting concrete pads and signs installed at Indian Hills and adding a putting league as well as other events.

As we enter 2023, we need everyone’s support again. Membership renewals are open now through Monday, Feb. 13, 2023. Current members can renew for $20. New memberships are $25.

Your TCDG membership makes you eligible to the full ace fund payout (and an TCDG Ace pin), gives you a $5 discount on your PDGA Membership Renewal and provides the Club with the financial support to continue to maintain our courses, cover our operating costs for insurance, host PDGA-sanctioned tournaments and grow the sport. This year, all Memberships will come with a Treasure Coast Disc Golf Bag Tag. We are planning to host a tag drop round on Saturday, Jan. 21 at Indian Hills. If you can’t make it that day – you can pick up a bag tag from any handicap TD shortly after that event.

All TCDG Memberships must be purchased online this year. It is essential for us to keep an updated Membership List with correct email addresses, so we can notify you about important Club news, including events and tournaments. Please CLICK HERE to complete your membership. Remember, your current membership is good until Feb. 13, 2023. If you wait until after mid-February, you will be charged the New Member fee ($25).

Again, THANK YOU for your continued support of Treasure Coast Disc Golf,

David Keith
President of TCDG
